Board Practice

We work with organizations across sectors in developing inclusive board practices by appointing diverse talent to serve in governing or advisory roles on boards. We do this by offering a cost-effective search, review of your board practices by applying integrity, insights as well as practical experiences tailored to you  organization’s values and need through  combining established practices with new & emerging thinking.

We are here to assist you in achieving greater inclusion at governance level.

Why us?

We are highly adept at assisting boards to find new board members and become more diverse and inclusive or continue to improve their board composition of the best fit. This includes searches for board chairs, individual members and their selection  (e.g. non-executive director, commissioner, trustee, president) as well as multiple or entire board recruitments for start-ups or transformation. Our team is continuously engaged in further learning and exchanges and are sought after speakers and trusted advisors from the grass-roots level to the halls of power.

What is the timeline for a search?

We recommend starting succession planning at least six to nine months out. We can assist with faster placement using a mix of traditional search and technology and working with boards on developing a suitable board recruitment package.

What type of boards do we specialise in?

We specialise in non-executive hiring placing chairs, non-executive directors, advisors, trustees and governors across sectors for governance as well as advisory boards, in the private, public and not-for-profit sector.

What is our approach?

Our approach is pro-active collaboration and designed to give parties a better understanding of each other’s interests and needs. As such, each can look for a win-win solution that upholds respective interests and supports boards to achieve their organization’s strategy. We offer any of the following services as a standalone or  in conjunction with others for a more in-depth board development:

  • Flexible, longer-range programmes of board development
  • Diversity development, including a diversity audit across surface and deep-level diversity markers
  • Advice on appointment and succession planning
  • Best practises for on-boarding
  • Board Effectiveness Review
  • Tailored reviews to address specific issues such as performance, dynamics, leadership or strategy change

Why are there different prices for a board placement search?

We base our pricing structure on the size, legal structure and annual revenue of your organisation and the type of board position you seek to fill. We provide onboarding support throughout the process, ensuring we find you the best candidate and a successful board transition.  Longer and more in-depth board development or board effectiveness reviews will be priced individually.
